As a guidance counselor, I have many roles throughout the school. Most of my time is spent directly with your children either teaching classes, facilitating small groups, or meeting with a child individually. Other services include: referral to SLP/OT/Psychology/Mental Health/Social Services, meeting with family physicians/teachers/parents/specialists, short term counselling, working with students to resolve conflict, school wide cultural programming, planning school initiatives & special events etc. If you have any questions, please contact me using the contact form below. A little about your Guidance Counselor...
I am from a small town called New Waterford, Nova Scotia. Upon graduation from St. Francis Xavier University, I moved to N.B. to begin my teaching career at Rothesay Netherwood School. I have taught in a handful of N.B. public schools at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I became a guidance counselor shortly after I graduated from UNB Fredericton with a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology. Over the years, I have taken on responsibility roles such as Literacy Mentor, Early Career Teachers Lead, Diversity & Respect Lead and in 2019, I became Vice Principal and Guidance Counselor at Island View School. I have two young children, enjoy the outdoors, love playing and coaching rugby!
